Prototyping and Scaling UX

I switched from mostly working in design tools to primarily building with code at Intuit when we were frustrated that shipped features often didn't match our design intent. What started as bridging the gap from vision to implementation eventually evolved into shipping entire microsites & exploratory versions of quickbooks.com.

I led initiatives for design systems at Intuit, Roku, and Salesforce and am excited to continue examining how design systems manifest to best enable designers to envision new product experiences without needing to write code.

Salesforce SLDS2 Uplift

I led the design system uplift to a new version of Salesforce Lightning Design System across 20 internal cloud management microsites.

Roku Prototype Platform

I maintained our prototyping component library, including creating components, architecture, CI/CD, and code reviews.

QuickBooks Unified Data View

One of many desktop and mobile prototypes I built at Intuit, this one explored a unified view of a small business's accounting entries that allowed for advanced filtering and searching.

Scroll-Driven Storytelling

We explored beyond parallax effects into more immersive storytelling driven by page scrolling. In this example, I created animations in After Effects, exported to Lottie, then animated via scroll position.

Magpie is a Figma plugin that lets designers search for artwork and metadata to add to design mocks.

Hummingbird empowers designers to create and share their own shaders and preview them on Roku devices.

Priority Matrix is a FigJam collaborative prioritization widget with over 90,000 users.

Chroma Palettes is an open-source plugin to generate beautiful and accessible palettes for data visualization.

Design Systems + Motion

I built a mature design system for UI motion across Intuit. Foundational motion design work by Brandon Wall. Currently I’m advising on a motion redesign for the Salesforce Design System.

Motion Design System

I expanded the set of animations to cover more use cases and better differentiate between product vs. marketing and UI vs. storytelling animations. I created documentation, a plethora of examples, and semantic labels to enable teams across Intuit to ship quality motion.
